80s Footwear Explosion!

We just got a ton of radical 80s shoes and boots in today at Kokorokoko! Escada, Versace, Andrea Pfister, Bruno Magli, Marc Alpert, Maud Frizon, Charles Jourdan heels, flats and sandals. Some are really fun like these Maud Frizon sandals with a giraffe that wraps around your ankle!

Or these Gianni Versace purple heels with in-layed rhinestone in the heels--what!

We also got some great boots, some of which have never been worn! Colorful suede, inlay and snake skin are the choice materials! hOt!!

Last weekend I met Emma of new Chicago blog Tres Awesome and she took my picture outside of our event at Eskell. My outfit was inspired by the Hip Hop Legend Afrika Bambaataa, early Hip Hop pioneers Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five and the from the Bronx, the awesomest pair of boots 9 West ever produced and of course the Kokorokoko favorite Coogi knits.

80s Banana Republic Travel & Safari Clothing

In the 1980s, Banana Republic was still a purveyor of Indian imports, Israeli army surplus and other exotic goods aimed at yuppie armchair adventurers. These safari boots are a perfect example of the jungle "Crocodile Dundee" look that Banana Republic popularized. The boots are also reminiscent of Vivienne Westwood's pirate boots.
