80s Footwear Explosion!

We just got a ton of radical 80s shoes and boots in today at Kokorokoko! Escada, Versace, Andrea Pfister, Bruno Magli, Marc Alpert, Maud Frizon, Charles Jourdan heels, flats and sandals. Some are really fun like these Maud Frizon sandals with a giraffe that wraps around your ankle!

Or these Gianni Versace purple heels with in-layed rhinestone in the heels--what!

We also got some great boots, some of which have never been worn! Colorful suede, inlay and snake skin are the choice materials! hOt!!

Inspirational Photo of the Day

Last weekend I met Emma of new Chicago blog Tres Awesome and she took my picture outside of our event at Eskell. My outfit was inspired by the Hip Hop Legend Afrika Bambaataa, early Hip Hop pioneers Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five and the from the Bronx, the awesomest pair of boots 9 West ever produced and of course the Kokorokoko favorite Coogi knits.

Delicious Left Overs

Thanks to everyone who came out to Eskell for Kokorokoko's special 2 day Vintage Sale! If you couldn't make it over the weekend we still have tons of really great stuff including some beautiful designer pieces. A simple plaid skirt by Burberry, a little black dress by Sonia Rykiel with a sheer collar or these deco inspired suede shoes from our favorite shoe designer Maud Frizon are just a few of the "leftovers" we have from the sale.

Frizon's designs are always chic and unexpected, which is just the way we like it at Kokorokoko. If you need somthing more "season appropriate" we have plenty of awesome boots as well! Come kick it at Kokorokoko!

80s Banana Republic Travel & Safari Clothing

In the 1980s, Banana Republic was still a purveyor of Indian imports, Israeli army surplus and other exotic goods aimed at yuppie armchair adventurers. These safari boots are a perfect example of the jungle "Crocodile Dundee" look that Banana Republic popularized. The boots are also reminiscent of Vivienne Westwood's pirate boots.

Kokorokoko Featured in Playboy!

Local Chicago Publication Playboy celebrated the 25th anniversary of "Back to the Future" with a fashion photo spread. Agga B styled the 80s themed shoot with a mix of vintage pieces from Kokorokoko and Labrabbit Optics as well as authentic Back to the Future merchandise like those awesome automatic sneakers MJ Fox wears in the sequel. Totally rad. We have some Back to the Future inspired gear in our webshop right now like these wrap around sunglasses and these futuristic gray sneaker/boots. Who's a Stud?

At Kokorokoko we believe that pretty much anything is better with studs. We have some great shoes and bags for ladies with stud details as well. Our favorite pair of men's boots right now are this pair of gunmetal and silver studded cowboy boots that can go goth or metal depending on your mood.

If you watch "Project Runway" as most of us do...last week the challenge involved a potato sack made of burlap and many of the designs transformed the fabric into beautiful and delicate creations--like these cool boots we currently have at Kokorokoko. They are made of raw edged black burlap four steal eyelets, Vibram rubber soles stitched over leather and cork stacked heels. Lovely. We have a lot of awesome boots for sale in our online shop...but we have a LOT more in store...including this awesome black fringe pair made by Zodiac USA. haWt!

Boots or Shoe-boots? You decide!

We have a lot of great boots and shoe-boots at Kokorokoko right now. This pair is Madonna Like a Virign style and are a nice off white soft leather...These are a more masculine style with super nice woven details and buckles at the heel...The red boots remind me of Tina Turner or Rick James...hOt!And finally we have these adorable white shoe boots that are totally 80s--fold over asymmetrical side-button kitten-heal hotness!

These boots are DOPE! They have straps made of canvas, lovely gray corduroy and bad-ass treads on the soles that make them look like classics from the future that you never know you needed--or if you are a women's size 9 you CAN OWN TODAY from Kokorokoko!!

Ahhh, the boots. These boots are made by "Wild Pair" and that pretty much sums them up. They are high heeled "Candies" style with little patches all over reminiscent of a steamer trunk that has traveled far and wide. This patch style was popular in the late 80s because I think it was meant to evoke a life of wealthy jet-setting epitomized in shows like "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"

Doctor Mickey

Oh Doctor Martin, if only you had known! These vintage Doctor Martins are made in England and feature awesome scribble writing pattern in gold and red. They are in perfect condition!
We are super into Mickey Mouse at Kokorokoko and so we were very excited to find this Minnie and Mikey scarf. They are too cool for school in their sunglasses and zebra print...super 80s style! Love it.
