In 1993, Sonic Youth lead singer/bassist Kim Gordon started a clothing line with stylist Daisy von Furth called X-Girl-- a name that references a then street wear company for boys called X-Large. The company started in LA and was known for fitted graphic tees, A-line dresses and mini skirts. The style feels very Godard-era actress meets skater, which was a drastically different style for the time.
