This is a super rare 1990s jacket from Starters "Flip Side" line of reversible hats and jackets. This particular jacket is silk and has sold black sleeves, one with a air force bomber style pen pocket and large polka dot body. The "flip side" reversed pattern is simple black quilted. Next week we are very busy at Kokorokoko! Ross Kelly will be DJing his monthy Italo Disco freak out NIGHT MOVES at Danny's next Tuesday the 19th from 10-2, the following night our very own Sasha Hodges will be at the Burlington Bar DJing her monthly night GEMS from 10-2 as well! On Thursday the 21st Kokorokoko will welcome Danika Faiola and her eponymous line DANIKA for a trunk show featuring hand made jewelry and other wearables. Expect discounts and refreshments as well as a look at everything Danika has been making after relocating her business from NY to Chi. The very next night is the West Town Art Walk,a brand new event devised by our friends at Dovetail and Seek Vintage down on Chicago Ave! Kokorokoko will be open late, serving drinks and discounts. Our featured artist is Amanda Joy Calobrisi. Come by on Friday from 5-9 to meet the artist, have a drink and grab some sweet vintage at a 25% discount. Sale goes all weekend!

At Kokorokoko, our main focus is getting you in the freshest gear from the 80s and 90s! At the same time, we are all about bringing people together, having art and fashion events that give some of Chicago's emerging talent together to enjoy each other's awesomeness. We usually host art openings in the shop every month (we have had over at least 20 of these since we opened in 2009!) but lately we have been mixing it up with other types of events and showcases. Last month we hosted an event featuring work by Amy Cryer from ChicagoStreetStyle.com .

This Thursday we welcome local multimedia artist and designer Superette for a one night only trunk show. There will be all sorts of hand made, found and re-purposed wearables for sale as well as drinks, friends and great discounts on ALL VINTAGE at Kokorokoko. We just got a ton of radical 80s shoes and boots in today at Kokorokoko! Escada, Versace, Andrea Pfister, Bruno Magli, Marc Alpert, Maud Frizon, Charles Jourdan heels, flats and sandals. Some are really fun like these Maud Frizon sandals with a giraffe that wraps around your ankle!

Or these Gianni Versace purple heels with in-layed rhinestone in the heels--what!

We also got some great boots, some of which have never been worn! Colorful suede, inlay and snake skin are the choice materials! hOt!!

This weekend join Kokorokoko and over 50 other vendors at the Vintage Bazaar! The Bazaar runs from 12-6 PM and is located at 2229 S. Halsted in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. Come check out the goods, have some treats from Goose Island Catering, listen to some Jams from Chirp Radio and bring a friend! There will be so much awesome stuff for sale!! In addition to our regular selection of fly 80s and 90s clothing and accessories we will have a small section of housewares.

We did it! 2 years of being Chicago's #1 source for 80s and 90s vintage clothing! Thanks for all of your support! We have met so many awesome friends and have such great customers it was fun to throw a party to celebrate with all of them--here are some pictures if you missed out--SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!

Highlights of the night included a tower of delicious cupcakes made for us by the amazing Curiouser and Curiouser Bakery, photos by Mathew Stephen and awesome jams played by DJ Jean Shorts and our very own Ross Kelly. Our loyal fans and friendterns Sisterman and Gaudy God were getting down and dirty, Isa from Chicago Looks was snapping photos and Emma from Tres Awesome hung out all night capturing the craziness. Thanks so much Chicago!

In the 1980s everyone watched Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and dreamed of being a jet-setting yuppie. Everything from boots to jackets were given "travel patches" meant to evoke the stickers on Victorian era steamer trunks. Everything from T-shirts to ski pants got the travel treatment. At Kokorokoko we are deep into this trend and have a lot of awesome examples of "travel graphics". Like this denim jacket from Jordache:

It is awesome how it is talking about itself on the patch--"balance tailoring makes you look great"...THANKS! You get to wear an ad for the clothing you are already wearing!

Sometimes the graphics were not on patches but directly silk-screened on like this awesome "Club Adventure" bat-wing sleeve crop top with MATCHING PANTS! The guy in the parachute has MEMBERSHIP!! Collegiate fonts, major metropolitan areas, adventure, all of these things spell money$$
This cotton spandex bike onesie is emplasoned with a globe and just like the Jordache is total meta fashion!
